Mezcal Apaluz is produced with Agave Durangensis or as the natives call it, Maguey Cenizo. This wild agave grows in the high plateau of Durango. The desert like climate in Durango and the lava rock terroir yields quite a unique and complex taste profile and characteristics. This agave takes between 10-14 years to reach maturity and takes approximately 15-18kg to produce 1L of mezcal.
Tasting Notes: Predominant aromas are floral with a present wet clay and grassy feel. Moderate smoke from beginning to end with subtle notes of apple peel.
